I remember there was hammer build posted here a while back that literally never broke as long as you were mining stone. I think it had cobalt and ardite plates, a bronze head, and an ardite handle. You had to put a reinforcement modifier on it or else it didn't work though. I'm also not sure if it works anymore, there might have been some balance changes in tinkers that broke it.
